2020 Summer Programming
Reading Makes Cent$ & Turn the Page
Partnership with Rockland Trust Bank
Friends of Fort Point Channel is thrilled to be partnering with Rockland Trust Bank helping them to promote their, Reading Makes Cent$ summer program. This program incentivizes children to read over the summer while also receiving a small amount of money for each book to put towards a savings account with Rockland Trust. For each book that is read, up to a total of 10 books, a child will receive $2.50 per book towards their savings account. If they read a total of 5 books, they will receive $12.5 in their savings account, $2.50 per book. If a child reads 10 books through the length of the program, they will receive the full $25 to start their savings account with Rockland Trust Bank ($25 is the maximum each child can receive from Rockland Trust Bank).
Turn the Page
Friends will be adding additional resources to the program. We will be asking families all over the South Boston Waterfront Community to send us the title of the books their children are reading, along with the grade their child will be headed into. We will compile a list on our website for parents to use as a resource along with other helpful information. Each child that enters in a book, it can be more than one entry yet not exceeding 5 entries, will be entered to win a “back to school” gift from Friends. It will be filled with some books and other school supplies. Only grades 1st - 8th. Please email info@friendsfpc.org if you have questions regarding the program.

Your Pride
We all have voices. We all have stories. This June, we want to take a moment to pause and hear yours. For Pride this year, Friends of Fort Point Channel wants to hear your story from the LGBTQ community. It can be general information about who you are, a personal experience, or a love story with your partner!
In solidarity with Boston Pride, Friends will resume their programming July 1st as we focus on the Black Lives Matter movement.
